I decided to sun myself

There was no-one in sight

Just a small patch of sunlight left out there

That’s where I placed my chair

Then a woman came out

And she placed her chair right smack in front of me

So close I coulda touched her hair

She had her back to me

I thought, «Man, This is weird, she’s pretending I’m not here.»

Then she lit up a cigarette and the secondary smoke poured over her shoulders

And right down my throat

But she didn’t notice, she didn’t even care

She had stolen my sunshine and cut off my air!

The electrician came by to fix my wires

And told me straight away I’d be charged by the hour

So he spent the whole day just pokin around, lookin for the ground

When he did start in, he rewired this and he undid that, and probably took a nap

Because a week went by before he said «it's fixed,» and he left with my check

Now the microwave turns on the big screen tv which cuts off the bathroom light,

intermittently, and I’d love to take a shower — but I’m afraid to try — I’m

afraid I’ll — FRY

J'ai décidé de m'exposer au soleil

Puis elle a allumé une cigarette et la fumée secondaire s'est déversée sur ses épaules

Et jusque dans ma gorge

Mais elle n'a pas remarqué, elle s'en fichait même

Elle avait volé mon soleil et coupé mon air !

C'est un vieux monde méchant quand vous devez vivre avec l'incompétence et l'indifférence

Comme une mauvaise tasse de café remplie à ras bord d'incompétence et

indifférence, Ouais!

Essayez pour moi une fois, même si je sais que c'est un mensonge

L'électricien est venu réparer mes fils

Et m'a dit tout de suite que je serais facturé à l'heure

Alors il a passé toute la journée à fouiner, à chercher le sol

Quand il a commencé, il a recâblé ceci et il a défait cela, et a probablement fait une sieste

Parce qu'une semaine s'est écoulée avant qu'il ne dise "c'est réglé" et qu'il reparte avec mon chèque

Maintenant, le micro-ondes allume la télévision grand écran qui coupe la lumière de la salle de bain,

par intermittence, et j'aimerais prendre une douche - mais j'ai peur d'essayer - je suis
