I met a Cosmic Cowboy and He’s ridin' the starry range

He’s a supernatural plowboy.

He’s dressed up kind of strange

At first you know, I didn’t even see him;

Hey, I was out there on the run

But that old hat that He’s wearin', it’s shinin' brighter than the sun

And when my eyes adjusted, to the flashin' of his smile

Oh, I saw his invitation.

He said, «Come on, Barry, we’ll go ridin' for awhile»

And you know we rode along together, for more than half a day

Right through the changin' weather;

the sky was all turning gray

And the chilly winds were blowin', and the cold was cutting deep

Then it started snowing, the trail was gettin' steep

I was just about to turn around, and head on back down the way we came

Somehow without a sound, I heard Him call my name

Lookin' up, I saw we was high up on this ridge

He took me by the arm;

lead me right over to the edge

I was so scared I couldn’t find a single word to say

I mean, there’s 10,000 feet of empty air, and it’s just about an inch away

But a million miles was out beyond the waving of his hand

And I was looking through His eyes, right in through another land

He said;

«This is my Father’s ranch, just as far as you can see

He made it out of nothing;

every branch, every tree

The stars, and the mountains, the rivers, the streams

The oceans and the fountains, and the valley of your dreams

I know that place you’re lookin' for, that place you long to be

Truth is, I’m the only door, you’re going to have to pass right through me

Bendin' back I tipped my hat so I could look Him in the eye

He just smiled and gave me confidence.

He said;

«Go ahead and try»

Well, it was now or never, and I knew I had to start

So I took that step and I went fallin', straight in through His heart

The first thing that I noticed, coming out the other side

All my fears had vanished.

J'ai rencontré un Cosmic Cowboy et il chevauche la chaîne étoilée

C'est un laboureur surnaturel.

Il est habillé un peu étrange

Au début, vous savez, je ne l'ai même pas vu ;

Hé, j'étais là-bas en fuite

Mais ce vieux chapeau qu'il porte, il brille plus que le soleil

Et quand mes yeux se sont adaptés, au clignotement de son sourire

Oh, j'ai vu son invitation.

Il a dit : "Allez, Barry, nous allons rouler un moment"

Et tu sais que nous avons roulé ensemble pendant plus d'une demi-journée

Tout au long du temps changeant ;

le ciel devenait tout gris

Et les vents froids soufflaient, et le froid coupait profondément

Puis il a commencé à neiger, le sentier devenait raide

J'étais sur le point de faire demi-tour et de reprendre le chemin par où nous sommes venus

D'une manière ou d'une autre sans un son, je l'ai entendu appeler mon nom

En levant les yeux, j'ai vu que nous étions en hauteur sur cette crête

Il m'a pris par le bras ;

conduis-moi juste jusqu'au bord

J'avais tellement peur que je ne pouvais pas trouver un seul mot à dire

Je veux dire, il y a 10 000 pieds d'air vide, et c'est à peu près à un pouce

Mais un million de miles était au-delà de l'agitation de sa main

Et je regardais à travers Ses yeux, à travers un autre pays

Il a dit;

"C'est le ranch de mon père, à perte de vue

Il l'a fait à partir de rien ;

chaque branche, chaque arbre

Les étoiles, et les montagnes, les rivières, les ruisseaux

Les océans et les fontaines, et la vallée de tes rêves

Je connais cet endroit que tu cherches, cet endroit où tu aspires à être

La vérité est que je suis la seule porte, tu vas devoir passer à travers moi

En me penchant en arrière, j'ai incliné mon chapeau pour pouvoir le regarder dans les yeux

Il a juste souri et m'a donné confiance.

Il a dit;

"Allez-y et essayez"

Eh bien, c'était maintenant ou jamais, et je savais que je devais commencer

Alors j'ai fait ce pas et je suis tombé, directement dans son cœur

La première chose que j'ai remarquée, sortir de l'autre côté

Toutes mes peurs avaient disparu.
