The Electric Fan - Bert, Ernie

It’s the warmest days we’ve had I think.

Oh, Bert.

Hey, Bert.

If you don’t mind if I turn on my

electric fan to cool off, Do you?

Bert?

Bert: Uh, Ernie.

I’m busy here.

Ernie: Oh Bert’s busy.

He’s writing a letter, I won’t bother Bert.

(Louder) I won’t bother you, Bert!

(Bert looks up, sighs,

and continues writing) I’ll just get the electric fan and turn on

some cool air.

(Gets the fan and turns it on) Oh, there,

that’s better.

(Pause) If some cool air feels good,

If I turn on the fan more, it would feel cooler I bet.

(Turns it on higher;

it’s starting to get really breezy now!) Oh,

the more air this fan blows, the cooler I feel.

Bert: Hey, Ernie.

I’m trying to write some letters.

Huh?

Ernie: I think if I turned this fan on all the way,

it’ll get really cool!

(Does so,

and papers start blowing around everywhere.) Oh, wow!

That’s some best cool air I’ve ever

felt!

Dosen’t that feel good!

Bert: Ernie!

The fan!

Turn it off!

Ernie: What, Bert?

Bert: Turn the fan off!

Ernie: I can’t hear you, Bert!

Bert: I said, TURN THE FAN OFF!

Ernie: TURN THE FAN OFF?

Bert: TURN THE FAN OFF!

Ernie: Oh, okay.

(Turns it off) There we go.

Didn’t that feel good, Bert!

What’s the matter, Bert?

Bert: Ernie…

Ernie: Yes, Bert?

(Turns the fan on all the way.

Papers blow around, and Bert starts yelling.)

(Fade out)

ventilateur électrique pour se rafraîchir, et vous ?

Bert : Euh, Ernie.

Je suis occupé ici.

Ernie : Oh Bert est occupé.

Il écrit une lettre, je ne dérangerai pas Bert.

(Plus fort) Je ne te dérangerai pas, Bert !

(Bert lève les yeux, soupire,

et continue d'écrire) Je vais juste obtenir le ventilateur électrique et allumer

un peu d'air frais.

(Prend le ventilateur et l'allume) Oh, là,

c'est mieux.

(Pause) Si un peu d'air frais vous fait du bien,

Si j'allume davantage le ventilateur, je parie qu'il ferait plus frais.

(L'allume plus ;

ça commence à devenir vraiment venteux maintenant !) Oh,

plus ce ventilateur souffle d'air, plus je me sens frais.

Bert : Salut, Ernie.

J'essaie d'écrire des lettres.

Ernie : Je pense que si j'allumais ce ventilateur jusqu'au bout,

ça va devenir vraiment cool !

(Est-ce ainsi,

et les papiers commencent à voler partout.) Oh, wow !

C'est le meilleur air frais que j'ai jamais

Éteignez-le !

Bert : Éteins le ventilateur !

(L'éteint) C'est parti.

Ernie : Oh, j'ai exactement ce dont vous avez besoin

pour quelqu'un qui est chaud et dérangé, Bert.

Bert : Oh, quoi ?

Ernie : Air frais, Bert !

C'est parti, Bert !

(Allume le ventilateur jusqu'au bout.

Les papiers s'envolent et Bert se met à crier.)
