No Small Wonder - Bob Geldof

I got home late last night about 8

There was nothing on the T.V. as usual

Just the normal repeats and things

I had the City Prices edition of the Evening Standard

Which was not as good as the Late Night one

Mainly because it doesn’t have the full cinema listings

To be more specific it doesn’t have the Fulham ABC

Which is my local

So I walked over to Battersea Park

Down by the Sri Chimnoy Mile

Past the Peace Pagoda

It’s good

You can have a personal religious experience

And get healthy at the same time

Which obviously is important for a busy man like me

Well another moment in life’s great adventure

It’s no small wonder

I hope you weren’t offended by what happened last night

It was the awkward hour

And I didn’t know what to do

Whether ot come on or just leave it

To be honest I wasn’t that interested

And I didn’t think you were either

So I went back to my place

And you went back to yours

And I got into bed

And started reading a book

By a guy called Tobias Woolf

It’s good it’s short stories

Just before you sleep he’ll take

You off to Burma… Mandalay

Places like that

I set the alarm clock ready for another day at work

Another day in life’s great adventure

It’s no small wonder

Je suis rentré tard hier soir vers 20 heures

Il n'y avait rien à la télé comme d'habitude

Juste les répétitions normales et tout

J'ai eu l'édition City Prices de l'Evening Standard

Ce qui n'était pas aussi bon que celui de Late Night

Principalement parce qu'il n'a pas la liste complète des cinémas

Pour être plus précis, il n'a pas l'ABC Fulham

Quelle est ma locale ?

Alors j'ai marché jusqu'à Battersea Park

Au bord du Sri Chimnoy Mile

Passé la Pagode de la Paix

C'est bien

Vous pouvez vivre une expérience religieuse personnelle

Et retrouver la santé en même temps

Ce qui est évidemment important pour un homme occupé comme moi

Eh bien, un autre moment de la grande aventure de la vie

Ce n'est pas étonnant

J'espère que vous n'avez pas été offensé par ce qui s'est passé la nuit dernière

C'était l'heure gênante

Et je ne savais pas quoi faire

Qu'il s'agisse d'aller ou de laisser tomber

Pour être honnête je n'étais pas si intéressé

Et je ne pensais pas que vous l'étiez non plus

Alors je suis retourné chez moi

Et tu es retourné à la tienne

Et je me suis couché

Et j'ai commencé à lire un livre

Par un type appelé Tobias Woolf

C'est bien c'est des histoires courtes

Juste avant de dormir, il prendra

Vous partez pour la Birmanie… Mandalay

Des endroits comme ça

Je règle le réveil pour un autre jour de travail

Un autre jour dans la grande aventure de la vie

Ce n'est pas étonnant
