Horace the horse on the merry-go-round

Went up and down, round and round

He’s been sad since the day he found

He’s the very last horse on the merry-go-round

The music began and away they go

High and low, to and fro

Poor old Horace would always say

«I'm the very last horse again today»

How he tried and tried and tried

But he just never could win

Horace cried and cried and cried,

'Cause all the other horses were ahead of him

Then came the day on the merry-go-round

Horace turned, looked around, then said, «Gosh, oh gee!

I’m the very first horse on the merry-go-round

The others are following me!»

Horace le cheval sur le manège

Je montais et descendais, tournais et tournais

Il est triste depuis le jour où il a trouvé

C'est le tout dernier cheval du manège

La musique a commencé et ils s'en vont

Haut et bas, va-et-vient

Le pauvre vieil Horace disait toujours

« Je suis encore le tout dernier cheval aujourd'hui »

Comment il a essayé et essayé et essayé

Mais il n'a jamais pu gagner

Horace a pleuré et pleuré et pleuré,

Parce que tous les autres chevaux étaient devant lui

Puis vint le jour du manège

Horace s'est retourné, a regardé autour de lui, puis a dit : "Mon Dieu !

Je suis le tout premier cheval sur le manège

Les autres me suivent !»
