A sweet young man sat on my chair

With a tape machine and a face of fear

He asked how does it feel to be who you are

I answered him with humility

And then asked him if he’d like some tea

I watched his arms and how his lips moved

He asked me if my parents approved

He asked to see my ruby ring

And if as a child i had liked to sing

he said «do you always tell the truth?

J'ai pensé, ce garçon pense vraiment que je suis une star

Je lui ai répondu avec humilité

Il a demandé si le tapis était quelque chose d'ancien et de charmant

J'ai menti et j'ai dit "Oui, un cadeau d'un roi ?

J'ai regardé ses bras et comment ses lèvres bougeaient

Il m'a demandé si mes parents approuvaient

Il a demandé à voir ma bague en rubis

Et si enfant j'aimais chanter
