He was just a hometown cowboy his belly kind of fat

Acme boots up on his feet and a big U-roll-it hat

He entered in the bull riding he did it on a dare

To please his little sweetheart with the long blond hair

He borrowed himself a bull rope spurs and a riding glove

To prove he was no coward to the girl he loved

His bull was standing in the chute his girl was in the stands

Wating to hear the name of her brave young man

He climed down on the back of that big ol' Bramer bull

One of the veteran cowboys came and gave his rope a pull

Someone said are you ready boy he said I guess I am The bull jumped out and turned back and flung him to the sand

The hometown girl had watched it all and wasn’t to impressed

She started looking around for a real man from the west

She looked around the arena and standin' by the fence

Was a tallean cowboy with a big black hat and tight fittin Levi pants

It was Jim a fine young cowboy he rode Broncs and Bramer bulls

He rodeo them quite consistently so his pockets were always full

Somehow he happened to glance up in the stands

And he saw that pretty blond haired girl as she was watching him

Meanwhile the hometown cowboy was back behind the chute

Dabbing blood off his nose and dumpin' sand from his boots

He got himself together wiped some manure off his shirt

He knew his girl would sloothe him cause he was darn sure hurt

He saw his blood haired girlfriend as he rounded the main grandstand

And his poor heart sank as he saw her leaving with another man

So boys if you don’t rodeo leave well enough alone

And don’t take your girl to the pitching cause you may not take her home

Il est entré dans le taureau, il l'a fait sur un défi

Pour faire plaisir à sa petite chérie aux longs cheveux blonds

Il s'est emprunté des éperons en corde de taureau et un gant d'équitation

Son taureau se tenait dans le toboggan, sa fille était dans les gradins

L'un des cow-boys vétérans est venu et a tiré sur sa corde

Quelqu'un a dit es-tu prêt garçon il a dit je suppose que je le suis Le taureau a sauté et s'est retourné et l'a jeté dans le sable

La fille de la ville natale avait tout regardé et n'était pas impressionnée

Elle a commencé à chercher un vrai homme de l'ouest

Elle a regardé autour de l'arène et s'est tenue près de la clôture

Était un cow-boy tallean avec un grand chapeau noir et un pantalon Levi moulant

C'était Jim, un beau jeune cow-boy, il montait des taureaux Broncs et Bramer

Il les rodéo assez régulièrement, donc ses poches étaient toujours pleines

D'une manière ou d'une autre, il a regardé dans les gradins

Et il a vu cette jolie fille aux cheveux blonds alors qu'elle le regardait

Pendant ce temps, le cow-boy de la ville natale était de retour derrière le toboggan

Tamponnant le sang de son nez et déversant du sable de ses bottes

Il s'est ressaisi et a essuyé du fumier sur sa chemise

Il savait que sa copine le baverait parce qu'il était sacrément blessé

Il a vu sa petite amie aux cheveux de sang alors qu'il contournait la tribune principale

Et son pauvre cœur se serra en la voyant partir avec un autre homme

Alors les garçons, si vous ne faites pas de rodéo, partez assez bien seuls

Et n'emmenez pas votre fille au pitch car vous ne la ramènerez peut-être pas à la maison
