He was just a carpenter by trade.

He learned from his father at a very early age.

There was something special in the man,

there was much more to his life

than just working with his hands

and He’d say There’s no home I could design that would match the one you’d find,

when you leave this world behind, if you only took the time.

Love your neighbour like your brother

treat your brother like a friend

always turn the other cheek

help the weary and the weak

make the time for young and old

and as your life unfolds

each kindness that you’ve shown

will be the nails and hammers

as you build your final ladder

in the manner of the carpenter of old

You could feel compassion in his eyes

only fools that hurt him did not realize

That he was speaking to us all

the righteous and the mighty

the silent and the small

Il a appris de son père à un très jeune âge.

Il y avait quelque chose de spécial chez cet homme,

il y avait bien plus dans sa vie

que de simplement travailler avec ses mains

et il disait qu'il n'y a pas de maison que je pourrais concevoir qui corresponde à celle que vous trouveriez,

quand vous quitterez ce monde, si vous preniez le temps.

Aime ton prochain comme ton frère

traitez votre frère comme un ami

tends toujours l'autre joue

aider les fatigués et les faibles

et au fur et à mesure que votre vie se déroule

chaque gentillesse dont tu as fait preuve

seront les clous et les marteaux

Juste un charpentier vous avez dit, laissez-moi vous dire ce qu'il a construit

à la vue du monde entier, à un endroit appelé la colline du Calvaire,

sur une croix d'un arbre avec trois clous rouillés, Jésus a construit un pont vers le ciel

Remercier Dieu de ne pas être ma volonté dans le jardin où il prie

Il la construit assez large pour traverser l'enfer qui fait rage en dessous

Il savait que je glisserais alors il a fait en sorte qu'il ne soit pas raide

Parce que je deviens faible et je me fatigue

Il m'a fait un moyen de me reposer de temps en temps en cours de route
