Voices are everywhere, and they’re screaming at us: use me, buy me, believe me.

We’ve got voices all over our culture: chat rooms, commercials, billboards,

and bumper stickers, and they all want our immediate attention

And then there is that voice from the past or that voice in your head that says

you messed up too many times.

You can’t do it.

You can’t do it on your own.

You’re not smart enough.

You’re not strong enough.

You’re not stable enough.

You’re not thin enough.

And then there’s the enemy.

The father of lies that

likes to get in there and say no way you’ll ever make anything of yourself

I had this amazing conversation with my dad not too long ago.

He’s a great man.

I love him so much.

And he told me about the first time that his father said

something encouraging to him.

My dad had just put a room onto his house.

And my grandfather was a master carpenter and he was inspecting my dad’s work.

And he got done and went to my dad, and said, «That's a good job Harry.

«And that was the first time my grandfather said something encouraging to my

dad, and he was 38 years old

Man, and without hearing that voice.

Without hearing that, whether it’s the

actually the physical audible voice of your father or mother, or the voice from

God, you don’t have any identity.

You have no way to function.

I think Jesus

knew that.

I think that’s why, when He went through His ministry,

touching people and healing people, and speaking to people.

He never asked

them to be anything that they weren’t.

He tried to get them to understand who

they were.

That’s why he said, «You're my daughter, you’re my son,

you’re my brother, you’re my sheep.»

He wanted us to identify with Him and

understand that we’re His creation;

that we’re worth something

Yeah, and that’s something amazing about Jesus.

He could look down into

somebody’s spirit and draw out who they really were.

I mean, he looked at Simon

and said, «You know what?

You’re not Simon, You’re Peter.

You’re a Rock.»

And how 'bout that woman that came up to Him when He was going through that

crowd, and she touched His garment, and he turned around and he said, «Daughter.

«His first word: Daughter

You know, Jesus got that honestly from His father.

Three times when Jesus was

under immense pressure in his ministry, God the father actually spoke.

I mean, spoke audibly, It wasn’t inward.

Jesus heard it, and the people around

Jesus heard it.

Like at His baptism, God the father said, «you are my son,

I love you and I’m pleased with you.»

And then at the transfiguration,

the father spoke again and the disciples heard it.

The father said, «You are my son.

I have chosen you, and God just established Christ’s purpose on

that mountain.»

And then, before Christ died at Gethsemane in John 12,

Jesus prayed: should I pray to be delivered from this hour?

No.

This is why I’ve come.

Glorify your name father.

And the father spoke and said,

«I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.»

And I think that promise

just drove Christ to the cross

I think it did too.

You may have never heard that voice.

That voice that says

you’re worth it.

You’re smart enough.

I believe in you.

I love you.

There may be a gaping hole in your spirit where that voice was supposed to

speak into, and it’s just a vacuum.

Listen, Jesus doesn’t require anything of

you.

You can’t work to get His approval.

Remember, when he was affirmed by His

father, when God looked down and said, «This is my son who I love.

«Jesus hadn’t done a single miracle.

All he asks of you is that you listen

Et puis il y a cette voix du passé ou cette voix dans ta tête qui dit

vous avez foiré trop de fois.

Vous ne pouvez pas le faire.

Vous ne pouvez pas le faire vous-même.

Vous n'êtes pas assez intelligent.

Tu n'es pas assez fort.

Vous n'êtes pas assez stable.

Vous n'êtes pas assez mince.

Et puis il y a l'ennemi.

Le père des mensonges qui

aime entrer et dire que vous ne ferez jamais rien de vous-même

J'ai eu cette conversation incroyable avec mon père il n'y a pas si longtemps.

C'est un grand homme.

Je l'aime tellement.

Et il m'a raconté la première fois que son père a dit

quelque chose d'encourageant pour lui.

Mon père venait d'aménager une pièce dans sa maison.

Et mon grand-père était un maître charpentier et il inspectait le travail de mon père.

Et il a fini et est allé voir mon père et a dit : "C'est du bon travail Harry.

"Et c'était la première fois que mon grand-père disait quelque chose d'encourageant à mon

papa, et il avait 38 ans

Homme, et sans entendre cette voix.

Sans entendre cela, que ce soit le

en fait la voix physique audible de ton père ou de ta mère, ou la voix de

Dieu, tu n'as aucune identité.

Vous n'avez aucun moyen de fonctionner.

Je pense que Jésus

Je savais ca.

Je pense que c'est pourquoi, lorsqu'Il est passé par Son ministère,

toucher les gens et guérir les gens, et parler aux gens.

Il n'a jamais demandé

qu'ils soient tout ce qu'ils n'étaient pas.

Il a essayé de leur faire comprendre qui

ils étaient.

C'est pourquoi il a dit : "Tu es ma fille, tu es mon fils,

tu es mon frère, tu es mon mouton. »

Il voulait que nous identifiions à lui et

comprenez que nous sommes Sa création;

que nous valons quelque chose

Oui, et c'est quelque chose d'incroyable à propos de Jésus.

Il pourrait regarder vers le bas

l'esprit de quelqu'un et faire ressortir qui il était vraiment.

Je veux dire, il a regardé Simon

et dit : « Tu sais quoi ?

Tu n'es pas Simon, tu es Peter.

Tu es un Rock. »

Et qu'en est-il de cette femme qui est venue vers lui quand il traversait cela

foule, et elle toucha son vêtement, et il se retourna et dit : "Ma fille.

« Son premier mot : Fille

Vous savez, Jésus tenait cela honnêtement de Son père.

Trois fois quand Jésus était

sous une immense pression dans son ministère, Dieu le père a réellement parlé.

Je veux dire, a parlé de manière audible, ce n'était pas vers l'intérieur.

Jésus l'a entendu, et les gens autour

Jésus l'a entendu.

Comme lors de son baptême, Dieu le père a dit : "tu es mon fils,

Je t'aime et je suis content de toi. »

Et puis à la transfiguration,

le père parla de nouveau et les disciples l'entendirent.

Le père dit : « Tu es mon fils.

Je t'ai choisi, et Dieu vient d'établir le dessein de Christ sur

cette montagne.»

Et puis, avant la mort de Christ à Gethsémané dans Jean 12,

Jésus a prié : devrais-je prier pour être délivré de cette heure ?

Non.

C'est pourquoi je suis venu.

Glorifie ton nom père.

Et le père prit la parole et dit :

"Je l'ai glorifié, et je le glorifierai encore."

Et je pense que cette promesse

vient de conduire le Christ à la croix

Je pense que c'était le cas aussi.

Vous n'avez peut-être jamais entendu cette voix.

Cette voix qui dit

vous le valez bien.

Vous êtes assez intelligent.

Je crois en toi.

Je vous aime.

Il peut y avoir un trou béant dans votre esprit où cette voix était censée

parler, et ce n'est qu'un vide.

Écoutez, Jésus n'exige rien de

tu.

Vous ne pouvez pas travailler pour obtenir son approbation.

Rappelez-vous, quand il a été confirmé par Son

père, quand Dieu a baissé les yeux et a dit : "C'est mon fils que j'aime.

"Jésus n'avait pas fait un seul miracle.

Tout ce qu'il te demande, c'est que tu écoutes
