You used to make my happy

The way you’d blatantly pretend

You were young and dumb

You were hard to comprehend

But when you needed a friend

You knew yourself so well

Your optimism shined

Then down the tubes you took me

Just like everyone does

When given enough time

You’ve grown on me like wisdom teeth

No room for that in my head

God give me a serious case of anything

And I’ll warm right up to a hospital bed

In terms of an animal, I’m really just like you

Gotta eat to survive
