Red River Crossing - Gray

I got a home over this mountain

I’ll be here 20 years to life

now Brushy Mountian has my body

but tonight my soul it will fly

I had a girl in east Kentucky

she had a man across the Tennessee line

I followed them down to the Tennessee river

with a shotgun and the devil by my side

there was a full moon risin through the cold black trees

there was something ragin deep inside of me

left their bodies lay there by that dark river

and for a moment my soul it was free

I got a home over this mountain

I’ll be here 20 years to life now Brushy Mountain has my body

but tonight my soul it will fly

black bird flyin by the light of the moon

take my sorrow away with you

fly me over these misty mountains

for my life here on earth will soon be through

mother loved Jesus with all the love inside

she said oh my son seek your soul to find

salvation in Jesus will see you safely

from out of the darkness and into

the everlasting light

J'avais une fille dans l'est du Kentucky

elle avait un homme de l'autre côté de la ligne du Tennessee

Je les ai suivis jusqu'à la rivière Tennessee

avec un fusil de chasse et le diable à mes côtés

il y avait une pleine lune qui se levait à travers les arbres noirs et froids

il y avait quelque chose de furieux au fond de moi

laissé leurs corps étendus là près de cette rivière sombre

et pendant un instant mon âme était libre

oiseau noir volant au clair de lune

emporte mon chagrin avec toi

fais-moi voler au-dessus de ces montagnes brumeuses

car ma vie ici sur terre va bientôt s'achever

mère aimait Jésus avec tout l'amour à l'intérieur

elle a dit oh mon fils cherche ton âme pour trouver

le salut en Jésus vous verra en toute sécurité

de l'obscurité et dans

la lumière éternelle
