All the familiar places I can see

Touch down and I hit the ground runnin'

Make my way off the plane, wait around for my luggage

Hit the gate, see my dad, drop my bags and I hug him

Feel the sun’s warmth as we leave the airport

Catchin' up on all that’s happened while I been away

And he tells me with a great big smile on his face

That finally the king is dead and everything must change

And as we cruise through the alleys and the streets

I’m struck by the beauty of familiarity

Big things, small things, all things in their place, man

I swear it’s like I left just yesterday

But it seems like an age since my team parted ways

And we each headed off into the wide blue yonder

I can’t wait to see 'em, 'cause it’s true what they say

'Bout absence and the way it makes your heart grow fonder

The next day and we head to the park for celebrations

Givin' out pounds and its hugs all round

'Cause we all so excited to be reunited

Valentine’s Day, 2009

It’s kinda crazy how the calendar’s days can fly by

And you watchin' fireworks light up the night sky

When I arrive this year I use a different gate

'Cause the Double S is playing so we chillin' backstage

And I make it in just in time to see 'em rock the house

One Dayers in the place and we turn the party out

And it make me so proud when I look in the crowd

And see friends and family representin' the hometown

People that I grew up with, little brothers and sisters

It’s like the whole neighbourhood was right there with us

And it seems like every year the crew just gets bigger

New names and faces, watch as the plot thickens

New chapters in the story of the streets that raised me

The streets that made me the way I am today, see

This year me and Adit been all over the country

And got love for every spot from Byron Bay to Bunbury

But there ain’t nowhere that I’d rather rest my feet

Than in the inner west side of the S-Y-D

So when I’m a grown man with a home loan plan

And I wanna settle down and own my own land

No doubt in my mind where I’ma put down my roots

In the place that I call my own, that’s the truth

Je descends de l'avion, j'attends mes bagages

Frappez la porte, voyez mon père, déposez mes sacs et je le serre dans mes bras

Sentez la chaleur du soleil lorsque nous quittons l'aéroport

Rattraper tout ce qui s'est passé pendant mon absence

Et il me dit avec un grand sourire sur son visage

Qu'enfin le roi est mort et que tout doit changer

Et pendant que nous naviguons dans les ruelles et les rues

Je suis frappé par la beauté de la familiarité

Grandes choses, petites choses, toutes choses à leur place, mec

Je jure que c'est comme si j'étais parti hier

Mais cela semble être un âge depuis que mon équipe s'est séparée

Et nous nous sommes chacun dirigés vers le vaste bleu là-bas

J'ai hâte de les voir, car c'est vrai ce qu'ils disent

À propos de l'absence et de la façon dont elle rend ton cœur plus affectueux

Le lendemain, nous nous dirigeons vers le parc pour les célébrations

Parce que tout le monde a de bonnes vibrations

Donner des livres et ses câlins tout autour

Parce que nous sommes tous si excités d'être réunis

Ils disent qu'il n'y a pas d'endroit qui lui ressemble, et

S'il y en a bien, je ne l'ai pas encore trouvé

Alors on fait la fête toute la nuit jusqu'à l'aube

Dans l'endroit que j'appelle le mien, ça fait du bien d'être à la maison

Tu vois, j'ai fouillé les coins de la terre

Et c'est ce que j'ai trouvé

Peu importe où je vais, porte d'où je viens

C'est un peu fou comment les jours du calendrier peuvent voler

Et tu regardes des feux d'artifice illuminer le ciel nocturne

Quand j'arrive cette année, j'utilise une porte différente

Parce que le Double S joue donc on se détend dans les coulisses

De nouveaux chapitres dans l'histoire des rues qui m'ont élevé

Les rues qui ont fait de moi ce que je suis aujourd'hui, tu vois

Cette année, moi et Adit avons parcouru tout le pays

Et j'ai de l'amour pour chaque endroit de Byron Bay à Bunbury

Mais il n'y a nulle part où je préfère reposer mes pieds

Que dans le côté ouest intérieur du S-Y-D

Alors quand je suis un adulte avec un plan de prêt immobilier

Et je veux m'installer et posséder ma propre terre

Sans aucun doute dans mon esprit où je vais poser mes racines
