What I was born to do

Some folks wouldn’t recognize their names

But chances are you probably sang along

Whitey Shafer or Whispering Bill

All the times they ever gave me chills

That’s why I write songs

Je me souviens comment ça m'a époustouflé

Quand j'ai joué ma chanson et regardé un homme adulte pleurer

Et c'est à ce moment que j'ai su

Ce pour quoi je suis né

La plupart des auteurs-compositeurs n'obtiennent jamais la renommée

Certaines personnes ne reconnaîtraient pas leurs noms

Mais il y a de fortes chances que vous ayez probablement chanté
