You saw me crying in the chapel

The tears I shed were tears of joy

I know the meaning of contentment

Now I am happy with the Lord

Just a plain and simple chapel

Where humble people go to pray

I pray the Lord that I’ll grow stronger

As I live from day to day

I’ve searched and I’ve searched

But I couldn’t find

No way on earth

To gain peace of mind

Now I’m happy in the chapel

Where people are of one accord

We gather in the chapel

Just to sing and praise the Lord

Ev’ry sinner looks for something

That will put his heart at ease

There is only one true answer

He must get down on his knees

Meet your neighbor in the chapel

Join with him in tears of joy

You’ll know the meaning of contentment

Then you’ll be happy with the Lord

You’ll search and you’ll search

But you’ll never find

No way on earth

To gain peace of mind

Take your troubles to the chapel

Get down on your knees and pray

Your burdens will be lighter

And you’ll surely find the way

Les larmes que j'ai versées étaient des larmes de joie

Je connais le sens du contentement

Maintenant je suis heureux avec le Seigneur

Juste une chapelle pure et simple

Où les gens humbles vont pour prier

Je prie le Seigneur pour que je devienne plus fort

Comme je vis au jour le jour

j'ai cherché et j'ai cherché

Mais je n'ai pas trouvé

Aucun moyen sur terre

Pour avoir l'esprit tranquille

Maintenant je suis heureux dans la chapelle

Où les gens sont d'un commun accord

Nous nous rassemblons dans la chapelle

Juste pour chanter et louer le Seigneur

Chaque pécheur cherche quelque chose

Cela mettra son cœur à l'aise

Il n'y a qu'une seule vraie réponse

Il doit se mettre à genoux

Rencontrez votre voisin dans la chapelle

Joignez-vous à lui dans des larmes de joie

Vous connaîtrez le sens du contentement

Alors vous serez heureux avec le Seigneur

Vous chercherez et vous chercherez

Mais tu ne trouveras jamais

Aucun moyen sur terre

Pour avoir l'esprit tranquille

Amène tes soucis à la chapelle

Mettez-vous à genoux et priez

Vos fardeaux seront plus légers

Et tu trouveras sûrement le chemin
