I guess he’s finished talking to the Lord

He used to fold his hands and bow his head down to the floor

I remember even when the times were bad

He thanked Jesus for everything he had

A good wife and three children and the food upon his plate

And listened to the preacher read God’s word

Aujourd'hui, j'ai suivi papa jusqu'à l'église

Et j'ai écouté le prédicateur lire la parole de Dieu

Nous avons chanté ses hymnes préférés et papa n'a pas fait de bruit

Cet après-midi-là, nous l'avons étendu dans le sol
