Black Building - Kashmir

I’ve past that little black building

Down on the corner so many times

And I often wondered

If anyone lived there

It looked like an empty dwelling

With its cracked façade

Dusty windows

Curtains withdrawn

No lights

No signs of anything

I talked to jewel about it

She had the same idea

That old guy

That always hangs out

Outside

The liquor store

Next door

Told me he’d once seen the devil

In one of those windows up there

Blowing him a kiss

He had a certain serious (almost eerie)

Look on his face as he said it

As if he’d actually seen the dark lord

Said he’d seen him

Throw trash out of the back window

That he’d been stealing the furniture

From whatever bars

Closed down in the neighbourhood

But he’s an old guy

Probably delirious

So anyway

The other day me and Ricco

Decided to break in

To see what the dark palace was really all about

It had a long tall hallway

That led to a staircase in the back

And on the right side

I counted seven doors

J'ai dépassé ce petit bâtiment noir

Au coin de la rue tant de fois

Et je me suis souvent demandé

Si quelqu'un y vivait

Cela ressemblait à une habitation vide

Avec sa façade fissurée

Fenêtres poussiéreuses

Rideaux retirés

Aucune lumière

Aucun signe de quoi que ce soit

J'en ai parlé à Jewel

Elle a eu la même idée

Ce vieil homme

Ça traîne toujours

À l'extérieur

Le magasin d'alcool

La porte à côté

M'a dit qu'il avait vu le diable une fois

Dans l'une de ces fenêtres là-haut

Lui envoyer un bisou

Il avait un certain sérieux (presque étrange)

Regarde son visage pendant qu'il le dit

Comme s'il avait réellement vu le seigneur des ténèbres

Il a dit qu'il l'avait vu

Jeter les ordures par la fenêtre arrière

Qu'il avait volé les meubles

De tous les bars

Fermé dans le quartier

Mais c'est un vieil homme

Probablement délirant

De toute façon

L'autre jour moi et Ricco

J'ai décidé d'entrer par effraction

Pour voir ce qu'était vraiment le palais sombre

Il y avait un long couloir haut

Cela menait à un escalier à l'arrière

Et sur le côté droit

J'ai compté sept portes
