I encountered on my walk home

A fly, who couldn’t

And I must have spooked it in my approach

Because the fly jumped up and landed on its back

And I was confronted with a choice

Right then and there

To flip it back over

Or to stomp it out of this world

And you

Knowing what you do of me

What do you think I chose?

And who are we

To judge the suffering

Of a puny little bug?
