His innocence fell with his clothes to the floor

In a pile of superhero PJs

The day the seed was first planted in him

From that a noose grew around his throat

He left him hanging from the family tree

Dripping out white into the river down below

Rapids of venom slowing eating him away

Flowing like fire until he overflows

And as the bullet enters in and out of him

Is this part of His plan?

Can he heal the damage that shred right through his soul?

So apocalyptic

And the light was within his reach

But the will moved through him like a slug

Both of his hands were in fists, body frozen

He is a boy who knows how it feels to break

In a way he was yours and she was mine

She would shrink me down until I imploded

Still the child made a superhero out of her

Even with her nail marks along my throat

My home was always on the edge of a steep cliff

So it was the only place I knew to build our own

Now we’ve both fallen down into the river below

We recreate the chaos
