Here comes a storm

The dust and papers dance around the room

It tells of a storm

The sky is a painted viscous swirl of troubled hues

There’s a storm

The branches rock and dance and creak and wave

We’re in for a storm

I’ve got this headache that I’ve had for days

Here comes the rain

The first few drops caress and gently dance

They light up your face

You smile in wonder looking through the eyes of a child once again

But soon the gentle drops become the deadly wolf of a gale

Our voices become lost beneath the chaos

Here comes a storm

The way the wind it starts to play and race

It whispers a storm

And here comes a storm

Just as everything was falling into place here’s a storm

There must be a storm

Don’t we need it

Just to clear it

To blow the dust away

Away, to a place where it can never be found or thought of again

Draw me the shades

The beasts that softly whisper in your ear & keep you awake

We all have ghosts and monsters dear it’s best to give them a face

And then you simply take it, burn and throw the ashes away

The creeping doubts will disappear without trace

Here comes the dawn

I can’t believe we’ve been sitting here all night talking this long

About exactly when and where it started going so wrong

Dissecting every aspect as if it was fine all along

I told you that I’d never been all that strong

Here comes a storm

And with it come the things that we will have to face in this storm

And here comes a storm

Just as everything was falling into place here’s a storm

There must be a storm

Don’t we need it

Just to clear it

To blow the ashes away

Away, to a place where they can never be found or thought of again

This patch of blue, this ray of sun

The sense of a strange uneasy calm

Perhaps that was all, perhaps we’re done

Or maybe the worst is yet to come

And all is calm and cold as death

As all of nature holds her breath

But soon enough she’ll blow

She’ll howl

She knows

And she will howl

She’ll blow us deep into the ground

To the ground

Where we can only pray that we’ll never be found

La poussière et les papiers dansent dans la pièce

Il raconte une tempête

Le ciel est un tourbillon visqueux peint de teintes troubles

Il y a une tempête

Les branches se balancent et dansent et grincent et ondulent

Nous sommes dans une tempête

J'ai ce mal de tête que j'ai depuis des jours

La pluie arrive

Les premières gouttes caressent et dansent doucement

Ils illuminent votre visage

Vous souriez émerveillé en regardant à travers les yeux d'un enfant une fois de plus

Mais bientôt les douces gouttes deviennent le loup mortel d'un coup de vent

Nos voix se perdent sous le chaos

Voici une tempête

La façon dont le vent commence à jouer et à courir

Il chuchote une tempête

Et voici une tempête

Juste au moment où tout se mettait en place, voici une tempête

Il doit y avoir une tempête

N'en avons-nous pas besoin ?

Juste pour l'effacer

Pour chasser la poussière

Loin, dans un endroit où il ne pourra jamais être trouvé ou pensé à nouveau

Dessine-moi les nuances

Les bêtes qui chuchotent doucement à ton oreille et te tiennent éveillé

Nous avons tous des fantômes et des monstres chéris, il vaut mieux leur donner un visage

Et puis vous le prenez simplement, brûlez et jetez les cendres

Les doutes rampants disparaîtront sans laisser de trace

Voici venir l'aube

Je ne peux pas croire que nous sommes restés assis ici toute la nuit à parler aussi longtemps

À propos exactement quand et où cela a commencé à mal tourner

Disséquer chaque aspect comme si tout allait bien depuis le début

Je t'ai dit que je n'avais jamais été aussi fort

Voici une tempête

Et avec elle viennent les choses auxquelles nous devrons faire face dans cette tempête

Cette tache de bleu, ce rayon de soleil

Le sentiment d'un étrange calme précaire

Peut-être que c'était tout, peut-être qu'on a fini

Ou peut-être que le pire est à venir

Et tout est calme et froid comme la mort

Alors que toute la nature retient son souffle

Mais bientôt elle soufflera

Elle va hurler

Elle connaît

Et elle hurlera

Elle nous fera exploser profondément dans le sol

Au sol

Où nous ne pouvons que prier pour ne jamais être trouvés
