I was thinking about a friend

I was left alone again

You kept me awake

As I couldn’t understand

The way she had to part with him

He’s such a decent man

I would’ve appreciated a call

We could talk about it all

I’ve got some problems of my own

Then I thought about the girl

How she thought about the world

If she found it bigger than a shell

Even though the club was safe (?)

Placed neatly upon her shell

I think my aim is to understand

What really makes man

And if it’s fair to say «i am»

And if it’s safe to say «I care»

Should I invite him over here

Just be silently aware

Comme je ne pouvais pas comprendre

J'aurais apprécié un appel

J'ai moi-même des problèmes

Puis j'ai pensé à la fille

Comment elle pensait au monde

Si elle l'a trouvé plus gros qu'une coquille

Même si le club était sûr (?)

Placé soigneusement sur sa coquille

Je pense que mon objectif est de comprendre

Qu'est-ce qui fait vraiment l'homme

Et s'il est juste de dire "je suis"

Et s'il est sûr de dire "je m'en soucie"

Dois-je l'inviter ici ?
