Celebrate today

On the 11th day of February 1990

I was glad to be alive and able to see

Nelson Mandela walking proud and free

After 27 years in captivity

In this world we’re living in so many things are changing

People are now fighting for what they believe in

Hand in hand woman and man march against the system

And their telling all their leaders to do the right thing yeah

Do the right thing, do the right thing (come on)

Do the right thing, world leaders, do the right thing

Amandla (power to the people)

Amandla awe tu!

Now the struggle isn’t over no the struggle’s just begun

And the fight against apart-hate must go on & on & on

'Cause equal rights and justice should apply to everyone

And if it don’t then there is something definitely wrong

So freedom fighters near and far make room cause here I come

And I ain’t gonna stop ain’t gonna give it up until the battle’s won

We want black and white to all unite together as one

'cause united we stand but divided we are done

So all South Africans come on hear me when I sing

'cause my message to all of you is never give in

In the fight against evil goodness will win

And if you agree then you are free to join in and celebrate

J'étais content d'être en vie et de pouvoir voir

Nelson Mandela marchant fier et libre

Après 27 ans de captivité

Dans ce monde dans lequel nous vivons, tant de choses changent

Les gens se battent maintenant pour ce en quoi ils croient

Main dans la main, une femme et un homme marchent contre le système

Et ils disent à tous leurs dirigeants de faire la bonne chose ouais

Fais la bonne chose, fais la bonne chose (allez)

Faites la bonne chose, dirigeants mondiaux, faites la bonne chose

Amandla (pouvoir au peuple)

Maintenant la lutte n'est pas finie non la lutte ne fait que commencer

Et la lutte contre la haine à part doit continuer encore et encore

Parce que l'égalité des droits et la justice devraient s'appliquer à tout le monde

Et si ce n'est pas le cas, il y a définitivement quelque chose qui ne va pas

Alors les combattants de la liberté de près et de loin font de la place parce que j'arrive

Et je ne vais pas m'arrêter, je ne vais pas abandonner tant que la bataille n'est pas gagnée

Nous voulons que le noir et le blanc s'unissent tous pour ne former qu'un

Parce que nous sommes unis, mais divisés, nous sommes finis

Alors tous les Sud-Africains viennent m'entendre quand je chante

Parce que mon message pour vous tous est de ne jamais céder

Dans la lutte contre le mal, la bonté gagnera

Et si vous êtes d'accord, vous êtes libre de participer et de célébrer
