Joshua Giraffe was born in a zoo

He lived there, too, for two years

And a half he hasn’t had a bath

My mommy doesn’t lick me

Even when I’m sticky

From, candy floss, candy apples, popcorn

Soft drinks, jelly beans and gumdrops

And there must be something better

Than living in this cage

But I’m really not too sure

Because I’m rather short of age

Joshua Giraffe was feeling kind of sad

Things were going bad

How little of life he had

Wasting away with no room to play

Trapped in a zoo with buffalo poo

So he went next door to the elephant

And asked him what to do

I’m wasting away with no room to play

The elephant was very old and gray

And he had a huge balloon bottom

And he said, «Never fear Joshua!

For a vision will appear!»

That night a dream came to Joshua and

Joshua saw animals like crazy monkeys…

And a whole pile of Hippypotostropasuses…

And flitty moths…

Frogs size twelve…

And sleazy lizards…

And a tribe of nasty saviars!

But Joshua wasn’t afraid

Because he sang himself this song

Even in his dream he knew

He’d never get away

Not even for a day, then!

A peanut hit him on the nose

Joshua Giraffe was back in the zoo

What could he do

Awakened from his dream

He’d never be the same

Because of things he’d seen

He’d seen

Alligators, crocodiles, tree sloths (tree sloths)

Anacondas, cobras and

Large winged moths

Orangutans, gorillas, baboons eating grapes

Gibbons, rude mandrills, and just plain apes

But Joshua was lucky

He had some special friends

And that day they went to the zoo

But he was up tight so they waited till the night

And they chopped his cage in two

He discovered he could fly and

He soared into the sky

With them wrapped around his neck

And they haven’t come back yet

Il y a vécu aussi pendant deux ans

Et la moitié, il n'a pas pris de bain

Ma maman ne me lèche pas

Même quand je suis collant

De, barbe à papa, pommes d'amour, pop-corn

Boissons gazeuses, fèves à la gelée et boules de gomme

Et il doit y avoir quelque chose de mieux

Que de vivre dans cette cage

Mais je ne suis vraiment pas trop sûr

Parce que je n'ai pas assez d'âge

Joshua Giraffe se sentait un peu triste

Les choses allaient mal

Le peu de vie qu'il avait

Dépérir sans place pour jouer

Pris au piège dans un zoo avec du caca de buffle

Alors il est allé à côté de l'éléphant

Et lui a demandé quoi faire

L'éléphant était très vieux et gris

Et il avait un énorme fond de ballon

Et il dit : "N'ayez jamais peur de Josué !

Car une vision apparaîtra !"

Cette nuit-là, un rêve est venu à Joshua et

Joshua a vu des animaux comme des singes fous…

Et tout un tas d'Hippypotostropasus…

Et les mites volantes…

Grenouilles taille douze…

Et les lézards louches…

Et une tribu de saviars méchants !

Mais Joshua n'avait pas peur

Parce qu'il a lui-même chanté cette chanson

Une cacahuète l'a frappé au nez

Joshua Giraffe était de retour au zoo

Que pouvait-il faire ?

Réveillé de son rêve

Il ne serait plus jamais le même

À cause de choses qu'il avait vues

Il avait vu

Alligators, crocodiles, paresseux des arbres (paresseux des arbres)

Anacondas, cobras et

Grands papillons ailés

Orangs-outans, gorilles, babouins mangeant du raisin

Gibbons, mandrills grossiers et tout simplement des singes

Mais Joshua a eu de la chance

Il avait des amis spéciaux

Et ce jour-là, ils sont allés au zoo

Mais il était tendu alors ils ont attendu jusqu'à la nuit

Et ils ont coupé sa cage en deux

Il a découvert qu'il pouvait voler et

Il s'est envolé dans le ciel

Avec eux enroulés autour de son cou

Et ils ne sont pas encore revenus

Donc si vous les voyez, obtenez un filet…

Un babouin se prélassant sur le balcon

Ou un lion léchant un citron dans le hall

Ou un python perché dans le garde-manger

Un gnou dans le W.C.,

Avec une tortue virevoltant dans votre baignoire
