It was almost a year ago

Walkin' down Beach Blvd, quarter to nine

It was dark and the moon was low

Nothin' going on about when she caught my eye

I looked left and you looked right

I knew right there you were mine tonight

The only thought to think was

I was hoping she was over twenty-one

Had a fake tatoo painted on her right hand

And blue jeans on, walkin' in the sand

I thought, I’m not Mr Right, but I’m mister right now

Then I walked up to her and said how ya do

She looked and me and said who are you

Ten days and a week had passed

And we’re still going at it like a honeymoon

I know she knows it’ll never last

But I’m hoping that it doesn’t end real soon

I came down and you were here

Flowers on the table and a nice cold beer

You asked me what I thought when I saw you for the very first time

C'était il y a presque un an

Marcher sur Beach Blvd, neuf heures moins le quart

Il était sombre et la lune était basse

Rien ne se passe quand elle a attiré mon attention

J'ai regardé à gauche et tu as regardé à droite

Je savais juste là que tu étais à moi ce soir

La seule pensée à penser était

J'espérais qu'elle avait plus de vingt et un ans

Avait un faux tatouage peint sur sa main droite

Et un jean bleu, marchant dans le sable

J'ai pensé, je ne suis pas M. Right, mais je suis monsieur en ce moment

Puis je me suis approché d'elle et je lui ai dit comment tu vas

Elle m'a regardé et m'a dit qui étais-tu

Dix jours et une semaine s'étaient écoulés

Et nous y allons toujours comme une lune de miel

Je sais qu'elle sait que ça ne durera jamais

Mais j'espère que ça ne se terminera pas très bientôt

Des fleurs sur la table et une bonne bière fraîche
