Rose - Shook Twins

Rose was born in the country but she dreamt of the sea

She lived with the best friend of a cobbler’s son

Where they take

care

of their own

She walks freely through the forest

And feathers from her plume

Pushed from the flock she knows, so she eats alone

Best friend on her own, and does she know

That she has a soul?

And does she know, where we all go?

Rose tucks her head in dark feathers to keep from the storm

She sits silent on the front porch watching it all go

When the fire burns, and the garden grows

And the children play, through the orchard’s moans

One day Rose left her porch and found the water running free

She jumped right in, tucked her feet in and took that river to the sea

How does she know, where we all go?

How does she know, that she has a soul?

Rose est née à la campagne mais elle rêvait de la mer

Elle vivait avec le meilleur ami du fils d'un cordonnier

Où ils prennent

se soucier

de leur propre

Elle se promène librement dans la forêt

Et les plumes de son panache

Poussée du troupeau qu'elle connaît, alors elle mange seule

Meilleure amie toute seule, et sait-elle

Qu'elle a une âme ?

Et sait-elle où nous allons tous ?

Rose cache sa tête dans des plumes sombres pour se protéger de la tempête

Elle est assise silencieuse sur le porche et regarde tout se dérouler

Quand le feu brûle et que le jardin grandit

Et les enfants jouent, à travers les gémissements du verger

Un jour, Rose a quitté son porche et a trouvé l'eau coulant librement

Elle a sauté dedans, a rentré ses pieds et a emmené cette rivière jusqu'à la mer

Comment sait-elle où nous allons tous ?

Comment sait-elle qu'elle a une âme ?
