Cocoon - Siouxsie And The Banshees

Here in my cot -- where my cot loves me

I’ll stay here a while -- in the cotton wool cocoon

'Til the chrysalis is ripe -- 'til the time is right

With this feeling of insecurity

I have to shrink back inside -- run and hide

Back in the cocoon -- hugging my knees

Watching my insides -- the skinned glow-worm writhings

Lying in blankets -- I’ve been here a while

Tapping out rhythms -- against the mattress and wall

The heat melts the sheets -- another layer is peeled

Just my cot, the wallpaper and me

I’ve been here awhile -- tapping out rhythms

Still finding charms in the memory of those constrictor arms

Glowing in the dark in my luminous green

A pearl beaded lizard -- bathed in a gossamer scent

With my heat detector lip-pit -- pulling at the newly formed tissue

Lying in blankets -- I’ve been here awhile

Tapping out rhythms… against the mattress and wall

Waiting… to loose the bandages

Waiting for new appendages

Back in the cocoon

Ici dans mon berceau - où mon berceau m'aime

Je vais rester ici un moment - dans le cocon de coton

Jusqu'à ce que la chrysalide soit mûre - jusqu'à ce que le moment soit venu

Avec ce sentiment d'insécurité

Je dois reculer à l'intérieur - courir et me cacher

De retour dans le cocon - serrant mes genoux

Regarder mes entrailles – les ver luisants écorchés se tordent

Allongé dans des couvertures - je suis ici depuis un moment

Taper des rythmes - contre le matelas et le mur

La chaleur fait fondre les feuilles : une autre couche est épluchée

Taper des rythmes…

Juste mon lit, le papier peint et moi

Je suis ici depuis un moment - tapant sur des rythmes

Toujours trouver des charmes dans la mémoire de ces bras constricteurs

Briller dans le noir dans mon vert lumineux

Un lézard perlé - baigné d'un parfum vaporeux

Avec mon détecteur de chaleur lip-pit - tirant sur le tissu nouvellement formé

Allongé dans des couvertures - je suis ici depuis un certain temps

Taper des rythmes… contre le matelas et le mur

En attendant… de défaire les bandages

En attente de nouveaux appendices
