Concerning of three young men

One night in January

According laws contrary

A-poaching went straightway

They were inclined to ramble

Amongst the trees and brambles

A-firing at the pheasants

Which brought the keepers nigh

The keepers dared not enter

Nor cared the woods to venture

But outside near the centre

In them old bush they stood

The poachers they were tired

And to leave they were desired

At at last young Parkins fired

And spilled one keeper’s blood

Fast homeward they were making

Nine pheasants they were taking

When another keeper faced them

They fired at him also

He on the ground lay crying

Just like some person dying

With no assistance nigh him

May God forgive their crime

Then they were taken with speed

All for that inhuman deed

It caused their hearts to bleed

For their young tender years

There seen before was never

Three brothers tried together

Three brothers condemned for poaching

Found guilty as they stood

Exiled in transportation

Two brothers they were taken

And the other hung as a token

May God forgive their crime

Concernant trois jeunes hommes

Une nuit de janvier

Selon des lois contraires

Le braconnage est allé tout de suite

Ils étaient enclins à se promener

Parmi les arbres et les ronces

A-tirant sur les faisans

Qui a rapproché les gardiens

Les gardiens n'ont pas osé entrer

Ni se souciait des bois pour s'aventurer

Mais à l'extérieur près du centre

Dans ces vieux buissons ils se tenaient

Les braconniers ils étaient fatigués

Et pour partir, ils étaient désirés

Enfin, les jeunes Parkins ont été virés

Et renversé le sang d'un gardien

Ils rentraient rapidement chez eux

Neuf faisans qu'ils prenaient

Quand un autre gardien leur faisait face

Ils lui ont tiré dessus aussi

Il gisait par terre en pleurant

Tout comme une personne qui meurt

Sans aucune aide près de lui

Que Dieu pardonne leur crime

Puis ils ont été pris avec rapidité

Tout pour cet acte inhumain

Cela a fait saigner leur cœur

Pour leurs jeunes années tendres

Il n'y avait jamais vu auparavant

Trois frères ont essayé ensemble

Trois frères condamnés pour braconnage

Reconnu coupable tel qu'il était

Exilé dans les transports

Deux frères ils ont été pris

Et l'autre pendu comme un jeton

Que Dieu pardonne leur crime
