Christmas at the Zoo - The Flaming Lips, Peter Mokran

There wasn’t any snow on Christmas eve

And I knew what I should do

I thought I’d free the animals all locked up at the zoo

I opened up the fence where the peacocks were

The llamas were unleashed

The snakes and seals could all get out

But they refused to leave

All of the animals agreed

They’re not happy at the zoo

But they preferred to save themselves

They seemed to think they could

The elephants, orangutans

All the birds and kangaroos all said

«Thanks but no thanks man»

To be concerned is good

It started to snow on Christmas Eve

In the middle of the night

Walking through the state park zoo

And everything is white

Il n'y avait pas de neige la veille de Noël

Et je savais ce que je devais faire

Je pensais libérer les animaux tous enfermés au zoo

J'ai ouvert la clôture où se trouvaient les paons

Les lamas ont été lâchés

Les serpents et les phoques pourraient tous sortir

Mais ils ont refusé de partir

Tous les animaux ont accepté

Ils ne sont pas heureux au zoo

Mais ils ont préféré se sauver

Ils semblaient penser qu'ils pouvaient

Les éléphants, les orangs-outans

Tous les oiseaux et les kangourous ont tous dit

"Merci mais non merci mec"

Être préoccupé, c'est bien

Il a commencé à neiger la veille de Noël

Au milieu de la nuit

Se promener dans le zoo du parc d'État

Et tout est blanc
