Little Annie's Christmas Wish - The Oak Ridge Boys

Little Annie never had a Christmas, her family was too poor

While walking by she saw a sign at the local department store

It said, «Just around the corner old Santa’s on his way

He’ll be here soon, tomorrow at noon» little Annie couldn’t wait

She stood in line and when it came her turn

She climbed up on his knee

When Santa heard what she had to say

A tear rolled down his cheek

She said there’s lots of things I’d like to see

Like a brand new bike beneath the tree

A dolly smiling back at me

But the thing I want the most

Then she whispered in his ear soft and low, she said

Christmas morning rolled around and she woke up with the sun

She ran straight to the window if Santa Claus had come

There was no sign of reindeer hoofs, no gifts of any kind

Then she heard a knock upon the door and she opened it to find

That poor little boy from across the road

With a new coat and new shoes

Little Annie jumped for joy and yelled

«My Christmas wish came true!»

She said there’s lots of things I’d like to see

Like a brand new bike beneath the tree

A dolly smiling back at me

But the thing I wanted most

Was to see the kids with less than me

Find gifts beneath their Christmas tree

Happiness and joy would be

The first thing on my list

A selfless dream came true

Little Annie’s Christmas wish

La petite Annie n'a jamais eu de Noël, sa famille était trop pauvre

En passant, elle a vu une enseigne au grand magasin local

Il dit : "Juste au coin de la rue, le vieux Père Noël est en route

Il sera ici bientôt, demain à midi » la petite Annie ne pouvait pas attendre

Elle a fait la queue et quand est venu son tour

Elle a grimpé sur ses genoux

Quand le Père Noël a entendu ce qu'elle avait à dire

Une larme a coulé sur sa joue

Elle a dit qu'il y a beaucoup de choses que j'aimerais voir

Comme un tout nouveau vélo sous l'arbre

Un chariot qui me sourit en retour

Mais la chose que je veux le plus

Puis elle a chuchoté à son oreille doucement et bas, elle a dit

Le matin de Noël s'est déroulé et elle s'est réveillée avec le soleil

Elle a couru directement à la fenêtre si le Père Noël était venu

Il n'y avait aucun signe de sabots de rennes, aucun cadeau d'aucune sorte

Puis elle a entendu frapper à la porte et elle l'a ouverte pour trouver

Ce pauvre petit garçon de l'autre côté de la route

Avec un nouveau manteau et de nouvelles chaussures

La petite Annie a sauté de joie et a crié

"Mon voeu de Noël s'est réalisé !"

Elle a dit qu'il y a beaucoup de choses que j'aimerais voir

Comme un tout nouveau vélo sous l'arbre

Un chariot qui me sourit en retour

Mais la chose que je voulais le plus

Était de voir les enfants avec moins que moi

Trouver des cadeaux sous leur sapin de Noël

Le bonheur et la joie seraient

La première chose sur ma liste

Un rêve désintéressé devenu réalité
