Many human beings I meet in the city

Seem so busy and self-absorbed

They look down on the street, their faces do not tell me

What they think or even what they feel

I walk through the streets and wonder why they seem

So distant and all alone

Is it easier that way and can they handle their day

Without sharing what’s going on

They walk and talk and they eat their meals

As fast as they can cause work is waiting again

They hurry and worry all day long

Until they finally go to sleep

I sit down on a bench, observe the passing people

How they move, how they act all weird

They can’t let loose, need to know all the news

Are addicted to all sorts of things

They care about their jobs and play perfect roles

Never admit to feel weak or low

How long can this go on?

They are fighting on their own

Losing hopes and dreams for good

This world is such a crazy place

It’s all about the come and go

People, where the hell are we heading to?

Beaucoup d'êtres humains que je rencontre dans la ville

Semble si occupé et égocentrique

Ils regardent la rue, leurs visages ne me disent pas

Ce qu'ils pensent ou même ce qu'ils ressentent

Je marche dans les rues et je me demande pourquoi elles semblent

Si lointain et tout seul

Est ce plus facile de cette façon et peuvent-ils gérer leur journée ?

Sans partager ce qui se passe

Ils marchent et parlent et ils mangent leurs repas

Aussi vite qu'ils peuvent causer, le travail attend à nouveau

Ils se dépêchent et s'inquiètent toute la journée

Jusqu'à ce qu'ils s'endorment enfin

Je m'assieds sur un banc, j'observe les passants

Comment ils bougent, comment ils agissent bizarrement

Ils ne peuvent pas se lâcher, ils ont besoin de connaître toutes les actualités

Sont accros à toutes sortes de choses

Ils se soucient de leur travail et jouent des rôles parfaits

Ne jamais admettre se sentir faible ou déprimé

Combien de temps cela peut-il durer ?

Ils se battent seuls

Perdre espoirs et rêves pour de bon

Ce monde est un endroit tellement fou

Tout est dans le va-et-vient

Les gens, où diable allons-nous ?
