Well I couldn’t really tell

She smiled at me and I could see

A story taking shape behind her eyes

As the train pulled out she explained to me

'Bout an unwanted girl and a pregnancy

But at 17 I couldn’t be the mother that I’m trying to be now

A tragedy it came to me and offered opportunity

To take that train and face the things I know

Though it wasn’t my heart to let her go

And now it’s time for me to show

And I don’t know why I’m telling you all of this…

Now my girl, she needs some help

Stood to leave then she looked at me

The tragedy she shared with me is now my opportunity

To take a view and make the wrong things right

To encourage her but she walked away

I’m so glad she told me all of this

So glad I took that train

I learned so much on train

And I’ll never be the same

Not since I took that train

Une histoire prenant forme derrière ses yeux

Au départ du train, elle m'a expliqué

À propos d'une fille non désirée et d'une grossesse

Mais à 17 ans, je ne pouvais pas être la mère que j'essaie d'être maintenant

Une tragédie il est venu à moi et a offert une opportunité

Prendre ce train et affronter les choses que je connais

Bien que ce n'était pas mon cœur de la laisser partir

Et maintenant il est temps pour moi de montrer

Maintenant ma fille, elle a besoin d'aide

Les ennuis dans lesquels elle est, et elle ne peut pas sortir

Sans une main avertie qui comprend

Parce que j'ai parcouru la route sur laquelle elle est

Prendre ce train et corriger les mauvaises choses

C'est ma chance de prouver que si nous choisissons, ce n'est pas toujours gagnant ou perdant

Et je ne sais pas pourquoi je te raconte tout ça

Alors que le train arrivait et qu'elle attrapait ses affaires,

Tous les souvenirs et les choses douloureuses et elle

Elle s'est levée pour partir puis elle m'a regardé

La tragédie qu'elle a partagée avec moi est maintenant ma opportunité

Adopter un point de vue et corriger les mauvaises choses

J'aimerais avoir les mots pour dire

Pour l'encourager, mais elle s'est éloignée

Je suis tellement content qu'elle m'ait dit tout ça

Tellement content d'avoir pris ce train

J'ai tellement appris en train

Et je ne serai plus jamais le même
