Soteriology - White Willow

In scarlet fields where fallen angels sleep:

a ground upon which mortals dare not tread,

where moves the image of the fallen man

who holds the star within his hand

beneath the shadow of a darkened sun:

intoxicated by the wine of life

we slumber through our days of emptiness

and blindness and forgetfulness.

Within the fire of awakening:

there lies the core of my triumphant self.

a spark ignites a freedom greater than all life,

my mystery profound.

Upon the altar where the chalice stands:

where coils the serpent round its offering

of knowing and of sight, the power to transcend

beyond the tyrant’s throne.

Dans les champs écarlates où dorment les anges déchus :

un terrain sur lequel les mortels n'osent pas marcher,

où se déplace l'image de l'homme déchu

qui tient l'étoile dans sa main

sous l'ombre d'un soleil assombri :

enivré par le vin de la vie

nous dormons pendant nos jours de vide

et la cécité et l'oubli.

Dans le feu du réveil :

c'est là que réside le noyau de mon moi triomphant.

une étincelle enflamme une liberté plus grande que toute vie,

mon mystère profond.

Sur l'autel où se dresse le calice :

où s'enroule le serpent autour de son offrande

de savoir et de voir, le pouvoir de transcender

au-delà du trône du tyran.
