I don’t know if it was a gap year or a gap life

But there wasn’t much going on between Channel 2 and Channel 9

So I went back to the beginning without rising from my seat

And wondered about everything that happened to me

And if you didn’t cry then you might laugh

Watching all the days drive by in their slow cars

Would I get my bond back, baby, if I drove away from here?

I turn my lemons into slices and I put them in my beer

And I go

Security lights, they flash and then go

I’ll buy a new TV when the old one gets old

Then it’s on again, and on and on again

Je ne sais pas si c'était une année sabbatique ou une vie sabbatique

Mais il ne se passait pas grand-chose entre la chaîne 2 et la chaîne 9

Alors je suis retourné au début sans me lever de mon siège

Et je me suis demandé tout ce qui m'était arrivé

Regarder tous les jours passer dans leurs voitures lentes

Récupérerais-je ma caution, bébé, si je m'éloignais d'ici ?

Je transforme mes citrons en tranches et je les mets dans ma bière

Les lumières de sécurité, elles clignotent et puis s'en vont

J'achèterai un nouveau téléviseur lorsque l'ancien vieillira
