When a man walked up to me

And I say

«I don’t like flies in my ointment

And that’s what you are

You’ll make me late for my appointment

Late for my appointment with my best friend in the bar»

Well I was down on the ground

Minding my own business when a snail slid up to me

And he said «Hey, slow down,»

«And anyways, you ain’t got no business rushing around»

And I said

«Stop acting like a fly in my ointment

Cause that’s what you are

You’ll make me late for my appointment

Late for my appointment with my best friend in the bar»

I was high in the sky

Minding my ouwn business when a jumbo jet flew by

And all the people inside

Staring out the window giving me the evil eye

And I said

«I feel like a fly in the ointment

And I don’t know why

Please help me I’m late for my appointment

J'étais sur mon mur

En m'occupant de mes affaires

Quand un homme s'est approché de moi

"Je n'aime pas les mouches dans ma pommade

Tu me mettras en retard pour mon rendez-vous

Eh bien, j'étais par terre

M'occuper de mes affaires quand un escargot a glissé vers moi

Et il a dit "Hey, ralentis"

« Et de toute façon, vous n'avez rien à faire »

Et j'ai dit

"Arrêtez d'agir comme une mouche dans ma pommade

Parce que c'est ce que tu es

Tu me mettras en retard pour mon rendez-vous

En retard pour mon rendez-vous avec mon meilleur ami au bar »

J'étais haut dans le ciel

Je m'occupe de mes propres affaires quand un gros porteur est passé

Et tous les gens à l'intérieur

Regardant par la fenêtre me donnant le mauvais œil

Et j'ai dit

"Je me sens comme une mouche dans la pommade

Et je ne sais pas pourquoi
