she said last night

she had a big night

and the lights on the dance floor were real bright

the drinks kept coming and the more they came

the more she felt like herself again

now she got the binge drink

oozing with instinct

to try and make life all new and shiny

extract the slime and the sleaze and demeaning

and win back a little more self esteem

and so she’s got a story for the girls on monday

the same damn story she told em last week

she hooked up passed out fell down woke up

walked home carrying her heels and handbag

it’s too bad she broke up with him

she never used to get like that with him

still she won’t call, won’t text, won’t ring

she don’t wanna be the one to give in

i mean, she’s holding on to her pride

besides, she’s probably moved on, right?

elle a dit hier soir

elle a passé une grande soirée

et les lumières sur la piste de danse étaient vraiment brillantes

les boissons continuaient à venir et plus elles venaient

plus elle se sentait à nouveau elle-même

maintenant elle a le binge drink

débordant d'instinct

essayer de rendre la vie toute nouvelle et brillante

extraire la boue et le sordide et dégradant

et regagner un peu plus d'estime de soi

et donc elle a une histoire pour les filles lundi

la même putain d'histoire qu'elle leur a racontée la semaine dernière

elle s'est évanouie est tombée s'est réveillée

rentra chez elle en portant ses talons et son sac à main

c'est dommage qu'elle ait rompu avec lui

elle n'avait jamais l'habitude d'être comme ça avec lui

elle n'appellera toujours pas, n'enverra pas de SMS, ne sonnera pas

elle ne veut pas être la seule à céder

Je veux dire, elle s'accroche à sa fierté

d'ailleurs, elle est probablement passée à autre chose, n'est-ce pas?

j'ai passé une grande soirée

maintenant je me sens un peu fragile à l'intérieur

et il n'y a pas de meilleur moment que le présent

je resterai au lit jusqu'à onze heures en Chine

rassembler toutes les choses que j'ai faites

je ne peux pas croire certaines des choses que j'ai dites

tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour m'en sortir

c'est la lumière du soleil, du café et une photo de vous

il n'est même pas sûr d'avoir passé un bon moment

il n'a jamais été comme ça avec elle

il n'avait jamais l'habitude de se défoncer autant avec elle

maintenant chaque soirée est un flou permanent

avec une explication qui va au-delà des mots

il est assis sur le canapé

bouche de boule de coton

regarder la télé essayer de s'abêtir

se disant qu'il est temps de rentrer sa tête

mais le week-end prochain, il recommencera
