Haunted House - John Anderson

I just moved in my new house today

Moving was hard but I got squared away

Bells started ringing and chains rattled loud

I knew I’d done moved in a haunted house

Still I made up my mind to stay

And nothing was gonna drive me away

Till I seen something that gave me the creeps

It had a one big eye and two big feet

I stood right still and I did the freeze

And it did stroll right up to me

Made a noise with his feet that sounded like a drum

Said, «Don't you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house and you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt gonna run me off

In the kitchen the stove was a blazing hot

The coffee was a boiling in the old pot

Oh the grease had melted in my pan

I had a hunk of meat in my hand

He ate the raw meat right from my hand

Then he drank all the grease from the frying pan

Said to me, «Boy, you better run

And don’t you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house now you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt like you’s gonna run me off

Je viens d'emménager dans ma nouvelle maison aujourd'hui

Bouger était difficile mais j'ai été mis au carré

Les cloches ont commencé à sonner et les chaînes ont cliqueté fort

Je savais que j'avais fini d'emménager dans une maison hantée

J'ai quand même décidé de rester

Et rien n'allait me chasser

Jusqu'à ce que je voie quelque chose qui me donne la chair de poule

Il avait un grand œil et deux grands pieds

Je suis resté immobile et j'ai fait le gel

Et il s'est promené jusqu'à moi

A fait un bruit avec ses pieds qui ressemblait à un tambour

J'ai dit : "Ne sois pas ici le matin venu"

Dire si je serais là quand le matin viendra

Je serai ici et je ne vais pas courir

Parce que j'ai acheté cette maison et tu sais que je suis le patron

Et aucun repaire ne va me chasser

Dans la cuisine, la cuisinière était brûlante

Le café bouillait dans la vieille marmite

Oh la graisse avait fondu dans ma casserole

J'avais un morceau de viande dans ma main

Il a mangé la viande crue directement de ma main

Puis il a bu toute la graisse de la poêle

M'a dit : "Garçon, tu ferais mieux de courir

Et ne sois pas ici le matin venu »

Dire si je serais là quand le matin viendra

Je serai ici et je ne vais pas courir

Parce que j'ai acheté cette maison maintenant tu sais que je suis le patron

Et ce n'est pas un repaire comme si tu allais me chasser
