Soft Spoken Man - The Weather Station

No great auspicious day

I been here so many times

I wasn’t sure I’d stay

I felt shy and stressed

There was a man to my left, waiting

It struck me, the way I saw him

A familiarity almost haunting

He was saying his name

I could hardly even hear him

And I lean in

I wouldn’t want to see him

I never want to see him through your eyes

I only want to see him through mine

Through mine

As one in the well never minds the water

For it’s clear and still

In time the light came to be a stranger

And it takes will, always will

Such a soft spoken man

I had to do most of the talking

I didn’t mind, we stayed up late that night, patient

Pas de grand jour propice

Une familiarité presque obsédante

Il disait son nom

Je pouvais à peine l'entendre

Et je me penche

Je ne voudrais pas le voir

Je ne veux jamais le voir à travers tes yeux

Je veux seulement le voir à travers le mien

A travers le mien

Comme quelqu'un dans le puits ne se soucie pas de l'eau

Car c'est clair et immobile

Avec le temps, la lumière est devenue un étranger

Et il faut de la volonté, toujours de la volonté

Un homme à la voix si douce

J'ai dû faire la majeure partie de la conversation

Ça ne me dérangeait pas, nous sommes restés éveillés tard cette nuit-là, patient
