Mulberry - Yoko Ono

During the war I was evacuated to the country and I used to go and get

Mulberries from the Mulberry bush so that I could feed my younger brother and

sister and myself.

And I just remember that feeling of reaching the sky and the fields and the

bush, the Mulberry bush.

I was alone and just picking.

It is getting a bit cold, though the sky is still blue because the sun is going

down behind the mountains.

And I was feeling a bit frightened because they said there were many ghosts in

the field and I was a little girl and had to go back home all by myself.

It’s getting dark…

So this is how I did the Mulberry song…

Pendant la guerre, j'ai été évacué vers le pays et j'avais l'habitude d'aller chercher

Mûriers du buisson de mûriers afin que je puisse nourrir mon jeune frère et

sœur et moi-même.

Et je me souviens juste de cette sensation d'atteindre le ciel et les champs et le

buisson, le buisson de mûrier.

J'étais seul et je ne faisais que cueillir.

Il fait un peu froid, même si le ciel est encore bleu car le soleil se couche

derrière les montagnes.

Et je me sentais un peu effrayé parce qu'ils disaient qu'il y avait beaucoup de fantômes dans

le terrain et j'étais une petite fille et j'ai dû rentrer toute seule à la maison.

Il commence à faire sombre…

C'est donc comme ça que j'ai fait la chanson de Mulberry…
