Well the sun rose fast on his whiskey smile

He waved goodbye to the west and held on for a while

He said we don’t need this town no more.

There’s things ahead worth seeing and there’s trials to fill the sky

If we stay we’re still just dreaming if we don’t get out and ride

He said kicking dust is just kicking dust

'Till you’re headed fast on an outbound bus

And my heart is a million miles away.

Remember me, I’m coming back

Who knows how long, but I’m as good as gone anyway.

My feet won’t tire from walking and my throat will always sting,
