Accursed for ever and driven to exile

Thou shalt be punished, for deeds of death

The earth shall not yield thee, of her fruits

By thy hands her soil stained, with proud men’s blood!

The green land, shall withhold from thee

Her beauty and delights

In sadness and dishonour

Shalt thou, depart from thy home!

As thou hast slain thy brother

Loathed of thy kin

A lowly pariah

Shalt wander the earth!

Look not for pity, in this world

For thou are lost in love and favour

Weary the ways you must wander

In dread and of woe!

Whenever one shall meet you

In your guilt, near or far

By his hate reminded

Of his brother’s death!

His life was shed

So thou art scourgest

And thou must go

Away from all men’s sight!

Maudit à jamais et conduit à l'exil

Tu seras puni pour des actes de mort

La terre ne te donnera pas de ses fruits

Par tes mains, son sol a été souillé du sang des hommes fiers !

La terre verte, te refusera

Sa beauté et ses délices

Dans la tristesse et le déshonneur

Tu vas quitter ta maison !

Comme tu as tué ton frère

Détesté de ta parenté

Un humble paria

errez sur la terre !

Ne cherchez pas la pitié, dans ce monde

Car tu es perdu dans l'amour et la faveur

Fatigué des chemins que tu dois errer

Dans la peur et le malheur !

Chaque fois que l'on vous rencontrera

Dans ta culpabilité, proche ou lointaine

Par sa haine rappelée

De la mort de son frère !

Sa vie a été perdue

Alors tu es le fléau

Et tu dois partir

Loin de la vue de tous les hommes !
